Jun's and Lou's Christmas Album

Christmas 2000

We made a snowman tree to greet our visitors in the stairwell.

Each ornament is hand-painted on lightbulbs, plastic spoons, and a plastic bottle.

This was the first year we covered the air conditioner to look like Santa Claus.

The design process...
1. An idea started to form with the purchase of a halloween mask. 2. A quick look around the house provided some tablecloths that looked like they'd be just right for his clothes.
3. Glueing on Santa's beard, and giving him eyes. 4. Now he's starting to get some personality.
5. Dressed and ready. Pulled together with pins (and toothpicks when I ran out of pins). 6. Jun visiting with Santa Claus before we leave for the office Christmas party.
In the last picture you'll notice that all evidence of crafting is put away, and the house is ready for the holiday season. Our guests started arriving the following day, and all was ready!

And snowmen Snowman bags to hold the bags of goodies for each of our guests lined the stairs. If you look closely at the ribbon on the stair rail you can see the reindeer made from zigsaw pieces. They were fun to make and were included in the snowmen bags, and given to everyone at work.

Christmas 2001

This year we made a snowman to greet our visitors in the stairwell.

We moved the snowman tree into the livingroom, along with our main tree (that the birds thought was their personal roosting spot), and a patriotic tree. You can see Santa Claus once again in the corner.

And of course, gifts for our guests that included embroidered snowman ornaments, or hand-painted Santa Clauses from the gourds that grew in our rooftop garden. (Sorry, you'll have to wait until we open the Christmas boxes next season before you can see a picture of one of the snowman ornaments we did. Santa gave both of us one of them in our stockings.)
