The party was already planned, but Jun's paperwork did not arrive in time from the Philippines. We went ahead with the celebration.

The tables were set and the flowers and decorations put out
Lus helped cook food for the party, and her sister and brother-in-law made puto as a gift. (Puto is like a small cupcake--very delicious.)
Shortly after the first guests started to arrive we got a downpour! So, we moved inside and the party continued. The men kept hoping the rain would let up, so stayed upstairs in the smallest room we have. The rain was having fun with them--it would let up, they'd take everything out, then it would pour again, and they'd rush to get everything back inside. It was a lot of fun watching them!
We held another party a week later (still not married) to use up all the food left over from the first rained out party.
We finally got married November 8th, 2001. This time we shared a bottle of champagne, and had our friends over for a Thanksgiving dinner at the end of the month.
I made rose beads from our wedding flowers, then made both of us bracelets with the beads. The birds ate the beaks off the birds decorating our scrapbook. All in all, the entire scenario has fond memories!
